Eat Out: Tashas, Constantia

I’ve been really lucky. My birthday falls at the end of the December, at what feels like the height of summer. On the most recent birthday summer day, my wonderful sister-in-law took me out for brunch.

We headed to Tashas, Constantia. Tashas is a restaurant/bistro which has expanded significantly – with branches in most major cities in South Africa and now in the UAE!

Tashas, Constantia is located in a busy little shopping centre, Constantia Village.

And it was here that we found ourselves on a weather-perfect birthday.

Tashas is generally busy. Especially on weekends and anytime during the holiday season. Frankly, most breakfast places in Cape Town will be.

What I appreciate about Tashas is that even when they are busy, the staff will give you a relatively accurate estimate as to when your table is going to open. You can then either sit in the waiting area (comfy couches, magazines and today’s newspaper) or browse the shopping centre a little to pass the time.

We had to wait around 15 minutes for a table, but between the browsing and the chatting – the time passed quickly.

We were seated outside, where it was warm but very comfortable underneath large umbrellas.

Bubbles? Yes, please.

Salmon fish cakes for me: delicious!

Quinoa beetroot salad, with chicken. I tried a bite – it was amazing! This is not your standard salad.
Between the bubbly, the tasty food and the outstanding company…brunch passed slowly into a lunch time hour.

Cheers to this fantastic woman!
Tasha’s is a great spot for a lazy daytime meal, and I’d highly recommend the Constantia branch if you find yourself peckish after your weekend shopping.
